'you push the button, we do the rest'
claimed by george eastman, promoting the kodak nr.1 camera in 1888

within the last decade, digital photography has first become mainstream (consumer compact cameras) and then omnipresent (cameras integrated in mobile phones, laptops etc).

closely related to this development is the increasing 'in camera automation' of the photographic process : autofocus, autoexposure, image stabilizer, automated flash etc - everything that happens after the button is pushed, is controlled by an algorythm (fully automated system).

all this is done, to provide the consumer with a pristine and cristal clear image of whatever they point their camera at.

in the workshop we will explore strategies, that make use of this technology and at the same time outmaneuver it.

after an introduction and some 'analog pimping' we will go off in groups taking photographs!

it would be great to have as many digital SLR's (plus some lenses / greyfilters / pol-filters ;) as possible. so please bring yours! if you don't have a 'fancy' camera, don't worry, just bring along whatever you've got apart from your mobile phone...
