The app will be official next week. If people used this app more we would not have problems with volcanos (as we could have virtual meetings instead...;))
The 21st Century Office application allows people to:
• measure their CO2, time and money savings from new technology solutions for smarter office work
• share, geotag, use and rate ideas how to achieve a 21st Century Office
• see where in the world ideas were first generated and then follow to see where the idea has been used
• twitter and e-mail ideas and test results to challenge others to participate and work smarter
• build up a database that can be used to create tailor-made roadmaps for a transition to a 21st Century office
• see a short movie that explains the difference between a 20th century and a 21st century infrastructure
• and a few more functions…
If you read Monocle, you will find in this month's edition a profile of Hojun Song, the front man of the Open Source Satellite Initiative who gave one of the most appreciated talk at Lift Asia 09 (video coming this month).
Hojun Song's is difficult categorise. ln which box would "launching a satellite" belong? Based in Seoul, where he gained an engineering degree, Song is planning to launch and operate a small satellite. If he succeeds, he will be the first individual do it.

Hojun Song thinks kids will soon ask their parents to offer them satellites, and that an open source initiative could make it more affordable and realistic than you think. He is an artist and dreamer, and he might very well achieve his goal as early as next year, sending a satellite collecting data from the cosmos and transforming it into information artists could use back on earth. He will be speaking at Lift Asia in the "Networked objects, from wifi rabbits to ubiquitous cities" session alongside Rafi Haladjian, Adrian David Cheok and Julian Bleecker.
