STMicroelectronics Foundation, based in Geneva, is a non-profit organization established by STMicroelectronics NV in August 2001, reflecting the increasing commitment of the company to social responsibility.
ST Foundation’s mission is primarily to develop, coordinate and sponsor projects that employ the use of modern sciences and high technology to promote human progress and sustainable development of less privileged communities around the world. The Digital Unify is ST Foundation’s major program. Through DU, ST Foundation disseminates a course aiming at spreading the benefits of digital technology, by providing the equipment of dedicated centers and the training of teachers.
The Foundation also supports projects of deserving NGOs in the field of sustainable development and ICT for development, as well as of experienced NGOs that have a significant impact for human development and progress in countries with precarious socio-economic conditions.
It is member of the UN Global Alliance for Information and Communication Technologies and Development (GAID) since 2006.
