Enjoy!
Mobile phone cell antennas are being camouflaged as trees and tomatoes are turning square. Technology wants to look like nature, and nature like technology. Mieke Gerritzen is a dutch artist talking about how culture becomes nature.
What makes LIFT so much more that a meeting for techno-visionaries? As a perfect metaphor for Web 2.0, LIFT has succeeded in creating a new community made up of those of us who want to stay in tune with the world & to connect.
I came away from LIFT 07 and LIFT08 with the certainty that the Geneva get-together is not only a thrilling platform for the discovery and confrontation of new concepts, but is also fast emerging as a spearhead for a “New Switzerland”, a place that creates and attracts bold minds.
Laurent Haug – your imagination, zeal and zest are the driving forces of this venture. By merging with the daring inventiveness of Cristiana Bolli Freitas and Laurent Bolli, together you have allowed creativity to flourish, a formidable component to a gathering which might otherwise have been just ... another conference.
Sylvie, David, Sonia, Nicholas(s), Marc-Olivier, Mathias and so many others whose thoughtful dedication brought it all together, you too deserve our thanks!
The greatest compliment we can offer you is to consider that we are all now part of the vibrant community that you have created. Vive le LIFT! And say hello to all our new South Korean friends when you are there…

The DIGITAL ART WEEKS program is concerned with the application of digital technology in the arts. Consisting of symposium, workshops and performances, the Digital Art Weeks program offers insight into current research and innovations in art and technology as well as illustrating resulting synergies in a series of performances during the Digital Art Weeks Festival each year, making artists aware of impulses in technology and scientists aware of the possibilities of application of technology in the arts.

So my first post won't be high tech subject. If anything its no tech subject. Which I think is great because most of what inspires us come from little observations of our daily lives. An Art expo by Maria Bill can constitute such an occasion.
We have our digital cameras and videos to capture the instant event, but art captures more and relays more about the event and the person who has observed this event.
Anyway here's an Invitation to fellow LIFTERS out there. If you are near or in Geneva, then you are most welcome. There's WIFI connection available so maybe someone with his MAC can blog about this.
SO:
INVITATION:
Bienvenue au vernissage de l'exposition MARIA BILL : "e n t o u r a g e s" le 1er novembre 2007 dès 18h.

Galerie-Salon, association Cheminée Nord
4 bis rue de la Truite
1205 Genève/Jonction
Please print the attached file as it the invitation card, if not present a business card and I hope to see some of you there.
