Swiss lunch menu

August 26, 2008 - 06:23 — Laurent Haug

The partnership with Présence Suisse we announced earlier this month will have one very happy consequence: Friday's lunch will be made of Swiss food under the supervision of chef Roland Hinni. Here is the menu:

Fondue Sampling Stations
Swiss Cheese Fondue (Gruyere and Emmental) with Large Diced of Banquette Bread, Cornichons Pickles and Cocktail Onions

Hot Food Presentations
Jeju Black Pork “Zuerichoise” (Thinly Sliced Pork Loin Sautéed with Cream of Mushroom Sauce topped with Freshly Chopped Parsley) presented with Berner Roesti (One Day Old Cooked Potatoes, Peeled, Grated and Fried with Butter)

Baguette Sandwich Stations (Make yourself)
Sliced Assorted salami, Honey Cured ham, Gruyere and Brie cheese
Air Dried Beef
Freshly Cut Banquette Bread for Sandwich
Butter-Dijon Mustard Spread, Mayonnaise

Lift's board member and friend (at least until I published this picture) Julian Bleecker enjoying the giant fondue diner at Lift Geneva 08.

Salad Buffet
Wedged Lettuce Salad with Gorgonzola Dressing
Swiss Style Potato Salad with and Chives
Cucumber Salad with Yogurt Dill
Sliced Tomato with Red Onions Vinaigrette
Sausages and Cheese with Pickles
Same Home-made Pickles

Dessert Stations
Basic Muesli with Milk Brown Sugar and Whipped Cream with Toppings
Small Sliced Peaches, Plums, Green Apples, Banana in Lemon Juice
Assortments of Coarsely Chopped Nuts (Like Walnuts, Hazelnut, Almond)
Honey
Dried Fruits (Like Blueberry, Raisins, Apricots)
Plain Yogurt
White Chocolate Mousse with Raspberry Coulis
Whole Fruit Display

Looking at the Pacific while eating Fondue, isn't that the ultimate definition of luxury? And Swiss ambassador in Korea Christian Hauswirth will honor us with his presence!

The view

August 26, 2008 - 04:43 — Laurent Haug

I arrived in Jeju yesterday, the temperature is perfect and the view is, as usual, breathtaking. Here is what you will get if you stay at our partner hotel - the Hyatt Regency Jeju - that you can book at a discounted price through the Jungtour reservation system. All the information is on the practical page.

Better hotel prices until Aug. 24th!

August 20, 2008 - 10:42 — Laurent Haug

We have negotiated with Jeju hotels - and especially our official hotel, the Hyatt Regency Jeju - some rooms at a preferred price. These rooms are blocked for Lifters until Friday, which means that it will be harder for you to get a low price after that date.

So if you haven't booked your travel visit Club Jung-Tour. They are our partner travel agency and allow you to make your bookings at the preferred price in a few clicks, both for the plane and the hotel.

On the tickets from Geneva to Seoul front, the ride will now cost you 1040$ with Finnair, really not a bad price knowing I paid an average of 1'500$ for my last six trips to Korea.

Check the new detailed program

August 11, 2008 - 19:18 — Laurent Haug

With the recent additions to the event (Friday's Swiss lunch, Nabi Art Center partnership, etc..) we had to completely rewrite the program page and the new and detailed version is now up. Check it out for the latest schedule, and for more info on the (really cool) social events we are preparing.

Cheap flights still available

August 5, 2008 - 17:24 — Laurent Haug

Despite the countless number of tickets we are booking for speakers and Alpict venture trip participants ;) the price to fly to Seoul remains surprisingly cheap, thanks to the promotion efforts of Finnair that just opened a new service to Incheon airport via Helsinki.

A flight leaving on Mon, September 1 with a return on Tuesday 9th (just enough to attend the conference and spend 3 days in Seoul) is only 1200CHF. Book your ticket now using Kayak, this kind of prices do not last long!

For help on booking your flights to Lift Asia, head to the practical information pages!

Registrations now simplified

July 16, 2008 - 17:54 — Laurent Haug

We are again working with our friends at Amiando to handle registrations, and the process is now simpler than ever as opening a LIFT account is not mandatory (only highly recommended).

You can pay by credit card or bank transfer, and will receive an electronic ticket seconds after the payment. If you registered before we put the new system in place you will receive an email explaining the procedure (which, in most cases, consists in doing nothing ;)

LIFT Asia 08 registrations now open

June 3, 2008 - 08:09 — Laurent Haug

We are now accepting registrations for LIFT Asia 08!
Tickets start at 250$ for startups, students and NGOs with a normal price of 650$. We are still finalizing the payment interface - quite tricky in Korea where people use a completely different set of payment systems - so you can not yet pay online but you can save your seat to listen to and meet the likes of Scoble, Jeffrey Huang, Christian Lindholm, Takeshi Natsuno (the inventor of NTT Docomo's imode) or Dan Dubno in one of the planet's most beautiful spot.

Save your seat now!

Save the LIFT09 dates

February 25, 2008 - 18:43 — Laurent Haug

For once we have the dates of LIFT09 one year in advance, and we are moving later in the month of February to create a bit more time between DLD, Davos, TED (happening early February in 2009) and LIFT.

Save the dates: LIFT09, 25-26-27 February 2009 in Geneva, Switzerland.

And prepare for a few early announcements as we already confirmed a few speakers who couldn't make it to 2008 but promised to be with us in 2009.

LIFT08 photos > 3'000, 4'000,6'000?

February 15, 2008 - 00:38 — Cristiana Bolli Freitas

Tonight I just found almost 3’000 pictures…. under LIFT08 tag! If you really want to find your portrait, that nice and particular moment you have in mind, I suggest you check LIFT’s flickr account.

The pictures on this account were taken by our VETERANS photographers, the official from LIFT : David Gagnebins de bons,Sonia Channel, John, Ben, Geraldine…Bread and butter team and a few friends.

You’ll find the SOLO USER photos, SPEAKERS PHOTOS, LIFTEXPERIENCE PROJECTS…even last edition pictures.

Well…if don’t find what you’re looking for there…then….well, then you have to search around!

Hope this will help you all!
